The Fill-in Boyfriend
by Kasie West
Review
Summary:
When Gia Montgomery's boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she decides to do the unthinkable…convince the cute guy waiting to pick up his sister to pretend to be her boyfriend for the night. The task is simple: two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.
The problem is that days after prom, she can't stop thinking about her fill-in boyfriend. But can Gia turn her fake boyfriend into a real one without exposing her lie and possibly destroying her friendships and her newfound relationship?
Smartly observed and wonderfully romantic, Kasie West's talent shines in this tale of one girl's unexpected quest to find love…and possibly herself.
My Honest Opinion:
I really really enjoyed this book. I had been wanting read this since it came out. But my library never got it in. So I just ended up buying it. I am so glad I did. Its was just so cute and so easy to read. I love Kasie West, I am hoping to read all her books I only have like 2-3 left to read. But all of her books I have read are 5 stars reads for me. I just love them that much.
I love how easy these books are to read. They are just so sweet, so fluffy. I love stories like this.
I was expecting a kind of different ending. I am glad it didn't end the way I thought. But I do like the ending to this. It made the story more real. Like not every character has a happy ending. Not everybody has to be together or become friends again. Thats what made this story more real.
The characters of Gia and Fill in boyfriend. They were so cute. I love how their relationship progressed. I didnt like the character of the real Bradley. I liked the fill in Bradley. He was much nicer. I loved his real name though. I just love his name. I loved the anticipation getting up to his name.
Their was one particular part to this story that almost made me bust into tears. I was so sad. I just wanted to throw the book at that point. Here's a quote of that particular part. “Chin up. There are other fish in the sea. It's a big ocean. Sometimes we need to catch and release a few before we find the keeper.” It was just so sad. I am not a crying person but this part almost had me.
This is just a really sweet contemporary young adult love story. That every body that likes fluffy books needs to read. If you havent read Kasie West at all, you should definately read her books
