Review: Every Last Word

Every Last Word Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

This was so so good. This story had me on a rollercoaster. It starts off easy to jump into the characters are just easy to love. Such an easy story to read. The way this writer tells her story is just phenomenal.
Anxiety is a really hard topic to talk about. There are many forms of anxiety. I have a small case of it. Which mine is nowhere near as bad as Sam's in this book. I love how Tamara told the story of her Anxiety issues.
The plot twist left me astonished. I had to just stop reading for a little while and collect my thoughts. Its one of those type of stories. I literally had no words to describe how I felt. It was just crazy but it was a good kind of crazy your just left stunned for awhile. Once you get over that part its played out so well. I just love this author. I cannot wait to see what else she writes.
This story is a must read. You just have to pick it up and see what your missing.

Review: Amish White Christmas Pie

Amish White Christmas Pie Amish White Christmas Pie by Wanda E. Brunstetter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story was so so cute. I love how this story was written, it was written so smooth and so easy to read. It just flowed perfectly. I love how you cared deeply for what happened to these characters. It was just so easy to read I loved it.
I forgot how much I am infatuated with Amish way of life. I love how devoted they are to God. I love the language they speak. I love their personalities. How simple and plain they are. Its just so facinating to me. I forgot how much I love to read about the Amish.
This is my first Wanda Brunstetter book, it most definately wont be my last. She is such an amazing author. I cant wait to read more by her.
I love how it is almost Christmas and this book referred to being around Christmas time. I also love when you find out what the title of a story really means. The title behind this story has a deeper meaning. I just love everything about it. It was amazing to read.

Review: Alive

Alive Alive by Scott Sigler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really great story. It wasnt fast paced for me. It took me a little while to read. But I really enjoyed it. I am not going into spoilers or details much because we are asked not too. But this is a really great story that I cannot wait to see what happens next. What I thought this story was about it really wasnt what I thought. But it turned into so much more. I have never read a story like this. I am really glad I got to read this. I can see why some people called this fast paced but for me it wasnt. It has some really great action and mystery to it. There were a few shocking parts where I am just like WHOA! And I would sit and have to think about it, wrap my brain around what just happened. But if your into mystery and science fiction and things like that you will love it. Definately worth all the credit it gets!

Review: The Start of Me and You

The Start of Me and You The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is such a unique story. I truly loved everything about it. I cannot wait to read another Emery Lord story, this story is really sweet and such a fast read. This story just went by so fast, I just wanted to keep reading it because it was so good and so easy to keep up with. All these characters was really good. Paige ends up restarting her life. Which she is really brave. Her boyfriend of 2 months drowns and she has a hard time starting over. Everyone is judging her because of her boyfriend drowning. I think she is really brave for starting her life over. She really learns who she is. And the guy she likes and the guy she becomes friends with really helps her. She runs with a whole new crowd along with her old friends, which she has the best group of old friends. I love them. They are so supportive and so loving. They are just really amazing.
By the end of this story my heart was busting with happiness. It was so good and such a fun read. I thought it would be kind of dark because of the whole drowning incident but it wasnt at all. She does have to overcome her depression. But its not as dark as you think.
If your feeling down or depressed this story will make you feel better. Its such an amazing book. Its emotional. It has amazing friendships. Cute boys. Just everything about it will make you feel so much better. This is such an amazing story. I loved it.

Review: Kiss Me

Kiss Me Kiss Me by Jillian Dodd
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I started reading this, it was hard for me to understand all the characters but as I got through to the middle I understood and got to know them all. There is alot of brand new characters that you learn about in this second book. The first book was really good, this book you learn alot about Keatyn because shes having to start her life over. The one stalker shows up in the book a couple times and its pretty scary. My heart was racing through it.
The only thing that started driving me crazy is when shes talking about Aiden and the God of All Hotties. She uses that too excessively in my opinion. It was ok for the first few times but she just says it over and over.
Throughout the book I went back and forth to Dawson and Aiden on who I like best for Keatyn. They are both really sweet guys. But I like Dawson more because he is more sweet and treats Keatyn right the whole time. He makes her the happiest I think. So I am Team Dawson through it all. I may change my mind through the next book but as of this one I am Team Dawson.
So far I am really loving this series. This is only the second book, but I cant wait to find out what Dawson and Aiden and Keatyn do next.

Review: The Future of Us

The Future of Us The Future of Us by Jay Asher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my second Jay Asher book, I really enjoyed the story. It was way too cheesy. But you could tell that it was going to be. But it was so fun. For fast readers its going to be one of those stories to fly through.
The synopsis intrigued me. Its the year 1996 and this girl gets a cd of AOL for her computer to access the internet. She has dial up and then she can access the internet. She finds the website called Facebook. SHe has never heard of, come to find out its a website from the future so she can track where she is going to be at 15 years from now. It was just such a great synopsis and I really enjoyed reading it.
Its very different from stories that are out today. This is definately a great story and readers are going to love it.

Review: Life Unaware

Life Unaware Life Unaware by Cole Gibsen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this story, I loved the characters. I love the synopsis. I have read alot of Entangled Teen Publishing stories. I love every single one of them so far. This story is very unique and different than what is out there right now. I knew this story just by the synopsis would break my heart, It really did a number on me.
When you find out who was behind the messages the person that copied them all its not really a shocker. If you really listen to the story you can figure it out. But the way the plot worked it was just so good. It was such a sad story too. There are alot of times my heart broke because of the way highschoolers treat each other. But thats just high school once your out, its so much better.
This story has alot about anxiety and you dont find alot of books with that now a days. So this is such a very different type of story, It also has some LGBT in it. Suicide, this is a really touchy type of story. But I enjoyed every minute. The ending I didnt really completely love, I do wish there was a different type of ending but it was such a good book. I completely recommend everyone pick this book up.

Review: Attitude

Attitude Attitude by Robin Stevenson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. There was so much drama put into such a short story. But I really enjoyed it. I love stories that involve dance. All dance stories are normally dramatic because they are mainly girls and girls LOVE drama. The family depth in this story is really good. I love how the family took in a girl from Australia for a Ballet program.
The girls inside the dance school are vicious. Girls can be so mean to each other. I hate how mean girls can get, how jealous girls can get and will stop at nothing to get the part they want. This story is full of drama, its full of jealousy. Its such a good take on how dancers can really get. I loved the story.

When Isobel once more encounters Varen, she finds him changed. And now Isobel must face a new adversary—one who also happens to be her greatest love.

My Honest Opinion:
I am really enjoying this series. I love all the characters, the story line pretty much everything involving this series. Its just so captivating. It sucks you in, its an amazing series if you havent read it yet.
There is one thing I would change, that aggravated me. Varen wasnt heavily involved in this book. All second books the 1 of the main characters that you fell in love with 1 of them doesnt show up in the second book. I dont understand it. He did show up at the very end but it wasnt for very long. I wanted alot more out of him. To see him alot more. That is the only thing I would change about this book.
I really like the dark gothic feel of the story. I dont read that many stories like this, I think this is my first one actually. Its just so good to get out of my comfort zone. It does have romance which drew me in even more to this series.
I could praise this series all day long and tell people all day long to pick up this series. You just have to read it. Romance lovers, dark gothic lovers. Just read it its an amazing series. I cannot wait to continue on to the last book. I just really need to know what happens. I love it so much.

Summary:

But everything changes when she discovers that Hunter is cheating on her—and she’s forced to decide what her next move should be.
Soon, Sydney finds herself captivated by her mysterious and attractive neighbor, Ridge. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either. They soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one.

My Honest Opinion:
I absolutely love this story. The writing and the way it was told was so beautiful. Colleen Hoover makes beautiful stories. I cannot wait to read more by her. This was my first audio book. I am so glad I listened to it. I love the Maybe Someday song as well. I love how she put that into the story. It was just so amazing.
The characters really made the story beautiful. I just loved Sydney and Ridge. I instantly fell in love with both of their characters. It really shocked me when you find out about Ridge. I just wasnt expecting her to tell a story like that. But I mean its Colleen Hoover her stories really touch you in ways.
If you dont like drama in stories, I wouldnt pick this book up. This story is very dramatic. Its angsty, but the friendship of this story is just amazing. This is a very emotional read if anybody loves emotional books this is definately one to read. It just gives you all the feels. You should definately pic this up if you havent yet.

Summary:
Anda loves Coarsegold Online, the massively-multiplayer role playing game that she spends most of her free time on. It's a place where she can be a leader, a fighter, a hero. It's a place where she can meet people from all over the world, and make friends. Gaming is, for Anda, entirely a good thing.
But things become a lot more complicated when Anda befriends a gold farmer -- a poor Chinese kid whose avatar in the game illegally collects valuable objects and then sells them to players from developed countries with money to burn. This behavior is strictly against the rules in Coarsegold, but Anda soon comes to realize that questions of right and wrong are a lot less straightforward when a real person's real livelihood is at stake.

My Honest Opinion:
I loved this book. The cover I think is absolutely gorgeous and reflects the story really well. I read this book in 1 sitting and its very hard for me to do that. Since I have kids. This was just such a good story. It is a young adult graphic novel. But I enjoyed it so so much. I was not expecting to enjoy this story as much as I did. For graphic novel lovers. I would highly recommend this story. This would also be a great graphic novel for first time readers.
It was funny, the graphics were beautiful. It made me want to play along with CourseGoldOnline. This is definately a story to read.

Review: Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why

Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why
by G. Willow Wilson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Summary:
Who is the Inventor, and what does he want with the all-new Ms. Marvel and all her friends? Maybe Wolverine can help! Kamala may be fan-girling out when her favorite (okay maybe Top Five) super hero shows up, but that won't stop her from protecting her hometown. Then, Kamala crosses paths with Inhumanity for the first time - by meeting the royal dog, Lockjaw! Every girl wants a puppy, but this one may be too much of a handful, even for a super hero with embiggening powers. But why is Lockjaw really with Kamala? As Ms. Marvel discovers more about her past, the Inventor continues to threaten her future. The fan-favorite, critically acclaimed, amazing new series continues as Kamala Khan proves why she's the best (and most adorable) new super hero there is!

My Honest Opinion:
This story was alot different than the first. To me it wasn't as enjoyable. But I still really liked it. The first one was all about who Ms. Marvel was and how she became Ms. Marvel. But the second delved into a deeper part of that story. Her stopping bad guys and such.
One of the things I really enjoyed about the volume, was Wolverine took a part in it. That was pretty awesome. I also like how we learn more about her life. It doesn't touch alot about her life being a Muslim but it seems to touch a piece of it in every volume. I enjoy that.
Another thing I like is the name Kamala its really different. No other book I have read has that name. So I really love that.
So I cannot wait til the next volume is out. To find out what Ms. Marvel will do next. Loving these graphic novels so far.

Review: Alive

Alive Alive by Chandler Baker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Publisher:
Disney Press
Publication date:

Summary:
Stella Cross's heart is poisoned. After years on the transplant waiting list, she's running out of hope that she'll ever see her eighteenth birthday. Then, miraculously, Stella receives the transplant she needs to survive.

Determined to embrace everything she came so close to losing, Stella throws herself into her new life. But her recovery is marred with strange side effects: Nightmares. Hallucinations. A recurring pain that flares every day at the exact same moment. Then Stella meets Levi Zin, the new boy on everyone's radar at her Seattle prep school. Stella has never felt more drawn to anyone in her life, and soon she and Levi can barely stand to be apart.
Stella is convinced that Levi is her soul mate. Why else would she literally ache for him when they are apart?
After all, the heart never lies...does it?

My Honest Opinion:

So the beginning of this book started off really slow. It was good but not great. It was basically what you would think a heart transplant person would go through. Which was ok for me. I was thinking the whole time I would give this 3 stars because it wasn't perfect at first. Then when you get to the middle you are like oh wow, this picked up some. It started reeling you in. So it became a lot better of a story. But by the ending it started getting creepy. I ended up putting the book down one night because I am not a scary book person. So I had to pick it up again during the daytime. I wasn't expecting the creepiness of it at all. It took a crazy turn that I wasn't expecting. That is what made the book so much better. It was a really good story. I would recommend it because its not what your expecting out of a heart transplant story and that's what makes it different.
As for characters, the character of Stella Cross and Henry. Yes I was rooting for them. They were such great friends. So I wanted them to be together. They enjoyed so much of the same movies. It was great. Levi Zin didn't really care for him much. But he was a good character as far as he goes.
This was a great story that alot of young adult people will love. You should definitely give it a try.

The List by Siobhan Vivian Review

The List
By Siobhan Vivian
Review

Publisher:
Scholastic, Inc.
Publication date:
03/25/2014
Pages: 336
Summary:
An intense look at the rules of high school attraction -- and the price that's paid for them.
It happens every year before homecoming -- the list is posted all over school. Two girls are picked from each grade. One is named the prettiest, one the ugliest. The girls who aren't picked are quickly forgotten. The girls who are become the center of attention, and each reacts differently to the experience.
With THE LIST, Siobhan Vivian deftly takes you into the lives of eight very different girls struggling with issues of identity, self-esteem, and the judgments of their peers. Prettiest or ugliest, once you're on the list, you'll never be the same.
My Honest Opinion:
So I really liked this book, although its not the best book. But I like the concept of it. Being about a list going out about whose the prettiest and whose the ugliest. And how those people become obsessed about their looks and even though they are pretty they still have problems. It was an interesting topic. Because thats all high school. High school is all about whose popular. Who is going to sit at my lunch table, who looks pretty. Do I look ugly in this? Its focused alot on looks, which is a really bad thing. But its high school its a really hard time in a young kids life. This is a very hard topic to write about. This author wrote about it. Some things I agreed with her about and some I didnt. But I liked the story she told. Its a really good story, that was told really well.
One of my favorite things about this story was how even the popular kids had problems, one of them was a skinny girl, wanted to be even skinnier to fit into a dress that wasnt her size. And she actually did that. It was a hard topic to approach. It was sad, but being a girl in highschool. You get made fun of for being fat, or TOO skinny. People judge you and its not right. I love how this author put in different aspects of high school.
I do wish this story was ended differently. It was more of an abrupt ending. I had a few more question unanswered. But overall it was a decent read. 3 stars

More Than This
More Than Her
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Marianne Williamson
We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we're back.
And we're fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.
My Honest Opinion:
This story is just so amazing. I say that about alot of books. But I love Jay McLean's writing. She is a phenomenal writer. This story is no exception.
This is the ending of Logan and Amanda's story. I can't believe their story is over. Its so sad. But the ending just left me overwhelmed. I just love these 2 characters so much. Its going to be hard to read the next book. But I said that about Jake and Mikayla's story. These 2 characters were just so great. They had a heart wrenching story. Ups and Downs. Like every couple. But this story was different. These 2 people go through alot together and apart. It just overwhelms you.
Let me just say, from Jay McLean fans I was warned about chapter 10 in this story. I was beyond intrigued. Chapter 10 in this story will make you bawl like a baby. Not happy crying but sad ugly crying. So please get tissues when you approach chapter 10. Its just so sad. So heartbreaking. But its just a must read, when your this involved with Logan's character.

My Honest Opinion:
I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I love the graphics pretty much in all graphic novels. I just love how they put pictures in and it just consumes you while your reading it. This definately held my attention to where I couldn't put it down. I just wanted to keep reading it. But its really hard for me personally to read it without putting it down because I have kids. So, this was such a great story. This is the first volume. So I cannot wait to read the next volume to this. I literally have it sitting right next to me. To where I can start it immediately.
Im not a person that talk about race alot. Because I think everybody is equal. But I like the fact that the person playing Ms. Marvel was a different race. Being a Muslim is probably hard. Especially a teenager. So I like how the incorporated that into the story. It makes the story all the more better in my mind. It gives you the advantage to know a little about Muslims. I love the whole story captured me and made me feel like I was there. This is just a great graphic novel everyone should read. 4 stars.
