As the new hero of Burnside, Batgirl gets started by facing twin sister assassins on motorcycles!

My Honest Opinion:
The first part is called Are You in the Black Book? This is my first Graphic Novel. This is a bit cheesy. But overall I like cheesy stuff. I LOVE DC Comics. Batgirl is a pretty good series so far. Are you in the black book was a great start to this book for me. Its broken up into different books I guess or parts all in one book. So volume 1 the first part is pretty good. I liked the storyline. I LOVE the pictures. Very good illustrations to me. Overall a great start to this book.

The second story is called Bling Bling Thing. This one was a really good story in my opinion. I loved all the Glitter that "BatGirl" had on that costume. I love all the graphics of this novel. The illustrator did a really good job in my opinion. My favorite illustration was a full page of Batgirl in the glitter suit. It was just so beautiful. The writing is so cheesy but that is what makes it good. Because it is Batgirl. Batgirl is cheesy. I love it.

The next one I dont know what it is called. The page has all the heroic things that Batgirl has done. But I really liked this one. It was different than the first 2 and it ended completely different. I loved the ending of this one. The world thinking Batgirl is bad. I like that. So very great story overall.

The next one is called Batgirl Vs. Burnside. I was very intrigued by this title. This story ties into all the other stories. And concludes the graphic novel. Overall the story was ok. My favorite was the glittery batgirl. That part of the Bling Bling Thing series. It was the best one in my opinion. Would I ever read it again? Probably not. But it was interesting to go into that world. So I do recommend buying or reading graphic novels. Because I really liked the illustrations some of them were a bit cheesy. But they were still pretty good. 3 stars

Series:
Nevermore Series, #1

Summary:
At once an homage to one of America's greatest writers and a page-turning psychological mystery that is equal parts horror, humor, and romance, NEVERMORE is the story of Varen -- a Poe-fan and goth -- and Isobel -- a cheerleader and unlikely heroine. When a Lit. project pairs the two together, Isobel finds herself steadily swept into Varen's world, one that he has created in his notebook and in his mind, one where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life. Isobel slowly learns that dreams can be much more powerful than she'd ever expected, and that pain and despair come in all shades. As labels of "goth" and "cheerleader" fade away, she sees more in Varen than a tall, pale outcast, and a consuming romance is braced against the ever-clearer horror that the most terrifying realities are those within our own minds.
When Isobel has a single chance to rescue Varen from the shadows of his own nightmares, will she be able to save him -- and herself?

My Honest Opinion:
This review was really hard for me. I just completely fell in love with this story. These characters and this world was just so amazing. This book was just so thought provoking. I love the story line and the Edgar Allen Poe parts. I am not really a fantasy person. But this paranormal fantasy was just fantastic. I got so invested in this story. I just couldnt stop reading it. I am so glad this story is in a series and not a standalone. I need more of this world. So I am really looking forward into diving into the next book.
The characters of Varen and Isobel. You wouldnt think they would have feelings for each other. Because their characters are just so much different than each other. Isobel being head cheerleader and Varen being more gothic than anything. Their characters are just so different. But when they got paired for the project together. I didn't know how I would like them together. But their attraction grew on me. Their feelings for each other. It just became so emotional. I kept thinking when will they kiss. Because I love the romance in these stories. But it never came. The buildup was just so overwhelming. Of course they do kiss, but at the time its not important because its close to the end of the story and other things are happening that are more important. It was just a great story. So much detail went into this story. You really should invest your time into it. And just fall in love with it like I did. I cannot wait to continue on with this story. And see what happens with it. Because there was a bit of a cliffhanger in this one. I just need to know what happens to certain characters. 5+ stars.

Currently Reading...

Currently Reading

So alot has been happening this month, thats why I haven't read as much. I can usually read like between 7-10 books a month. But not this month, I have completely finished 3 books so far. Im kind of upset with that number but I am reading as much as I can.
School has started for both of my kids. My oldest is in 3rd grade. She does Gymnastics and is in PreComp dance this year as well. My youngest is in Prek. He starts his second year of football this year. So we have been extra busy. While they are at school I have been volunteering at their school. So I have been busy with that. So onto what I am currently reading right now.

I have started Allegiant the last book of the Divergent series. I am enjoying it, but I am not reading it very fast. Im going to talk to much about this. I will when I finish the book. This is a pretty hefty book, so I am taking my time on this story.

I am also reading More Than Him by Jay McLean on my Kindle App. This is the 3rd book in the More Than series. I really love this series. It is so so good. Logans story is a bit sad, But its really enjoyable. I cannot get enough of Jay's writing. If you haven't read her books. You should go do it.

Next I am reading Nevermore by Kelly Creagh. I really love this story. Its different. I dont normally read fantasy but this is a different type of fantasy and its really enjoyable. Its a hefty book. But its so so good. Hopefully I will be done with this next. And have a review up soon.

Last but not least I am reading my first Graphic Novel. I am so excited to get my hands on a graphic novel. The book I chose is BatGirl. Batgirl of Burnside by Cameren Stewart and Brendan Fletcher. Its a bit cheesy but its a fun story in my opinion. I am going to be breaking it down into different parts because there is alot of different stories inside this one novel.

ISBN-13:

Publisher:

Publication date:
11/18/2013
Pages:
336
Summary:
Please note that this is the second book in the series and should not be read prior to reading More Than This.
"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."
For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice,
and all you get are the consequences.
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

My Honest Review:
This story just had me emotionally in so many ways. I got way too involved in just this book. This is the 2nd book. So go read the first book first.
Logan just grew on me. I didnt know how I would feel going into this. Because I had such strong feelings during the first book with Jake and Mikhayla I just loved their story. But Logan and Amanda's story is completely different. You still see Jake and Mikhayla inside this book. But this is all about Logan and Amanda. Logan is messed up in his own way. His story is different from Jake. It really touches at your heart and you fall in love with Logan, You just swoon the whole time your reading this and then it breaks your heart and puts it back together again.
By the ending of this story, I did not realize it would end that way. I was freaking out. I was expecting a happy ending, but it was different. So right then I just had to buy book 3. You just get so captured by this story. If you havent read it. You MUST go do that. Such an overwhelming story. Easy characters to fall in love with. Just go read this series. Her fans are called Jaybirds. So go read these stories. And fall in love with them just like I did. Become a Jaybird fan. 5+ stars.

Summary:
An anxiety disorder disrupts fourteen-year-old Audrey’s daily life. She has been making slow but steady progress with Dr. Sarah, but when Audrey meets Linus, her brother’s gaming teammate, she is energized. She connects with him. Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family.

My Honest Review:
I started this book and I really couldn't get into it. The story just didn't capture my attention like I thought it would. But as I kept reading a quarter of the way through I just couldn't stop reading. I love Sophie Kinsella books, her book just capture me. I love how she writes. The stories she puts out there. They are just so funny. The metaphors that she uses in her stories. They are just so funny. One of my favorites in this is about the rhubarb. I laugh everytime I think of it.
This story isn't all fun and games. It has a really deep meaning to it. Basically anxiety and how to express how people think and look at you. Having a fear of not liking who you are. This story is just so beautiful. I loved that this is her first YA book. And she told such a powerful story with it. Its a very deep and emotional if you can somehow understand these emotions.
I also like that during the story she took awhile before the romance factor kicked in. It wasn't all instalovey. It was more than 150 pages in before the feelings come into the story. That really stood out to me. I love how the story progresses. How Linus and Audrey are together and then throw the brother Frank into it. How Frank was Linus's friend first. I love how the friendship didnt fall apart just because of Linus and Audrey together.
I love how the story ended it just ended on a really good note. Not the way I was expecting from how crazy Audrey's mom is. I just really love this story. Being her first YA novel I didnt really know what to expect of it. But its just so enjoyable. 4.5 stars.
